The government rarely mingle with issues of private companies, especially if it concerns about the company's product or technology. But when security is at stake, the government will do at least something to cushion up things.

Recently, the world of Mac users was shaken up by a malware that trues to sneak into a Mac user's computer, embed itself and trick users into buying a fake anti-virus through a credit card process. Malwares, or trojans, are very common in Windows, but Macs rarely get attacks because of their relatively small market.

The National Security Agency, or NSA, is too affected by these security issues on Mac that the incident actually prompted them to release their own security guidelines for Mac users as well as other people using a different operating system.

Most of the tips in the PDF are just a matter of common sense. Like not visiting suspicious websites, not opening programs that automatically tries to install itself on your computer, not entering your password on something that just popped from nowhere, and not putting your credit card details unless you know the site is safe.

But the NSA also included some tips that others might find hard to do and just nt practical, like turning off Bluetooth and the WiFi. This is specially hard to do when you are in place away from home wherein no wired connection can be establish.

For the complete NSA guideline, check it h ere at http://www.nsa.gov/ia/_files/factsheets/macosx_10_6_hardeningtips.pdf
