The argument that Microsoft is more vulnerable to hacking and malwares than that of Apple products is lame. According to security experts, it has to do with the market reach. Because Microsoft has a larger market than Apple, it makes sense for the evil geniuses to write viruses and malwares for MS.

That reasoning can also be applied for the changing market demand for computer devices. The sale of PCs in the last few months has slipped down, while demand for smartphones, netbooks and tablets have increased. Experts suggests that it will not be long before we see viruses in these new devices, as hackers also turn their attention to rising trends.

Because of this, security companies have been pushing for stronger security standards for these new devices. Technologies such as fingerprint scanners and face recognition are being tested for compatibility and usefulness for these devices.

Others on the other hand wants to embed security from the roots of the device. Intel recently acquired McAfee for $7.7 billion, and expressed the possibilities of having the technology of McAfee embedded in its processors as the first line of defense to keep away harmful, outside programs from your computer.
